How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Secure your PipsCrusher account with TOTP two-factor authentication using an authenticator app.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your PipsCrusher account. Even if someone obtains your password, they can't access your account without the 2FA code.

Setting Up 2FA:

Step 1: Go to Settings → Security on your dashboard.

Step 2: Click "Enable Two-Factor Authentication".

Step 3: You'll see a QR code. Scan it with your authenticator app:

Google Authenticator (Android/iOS)
Authy (Android/iOS/Desktop)
Microsoft Authenticator (Android/iOS)
Any TOTP-compatible authenticator app

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to verify the setup.

Step 5: Save your recovery codes! You'll be shown a set of one-time recovery codes. Store these somewhere safe (password manager, printed copy, etc.). These codes can be used to access your account if you lose your authenticator device.

How It Works: After enabling 2FA, every time you log in you'll need to enter: 1. Your email and password (as usual) 2. A 6-digit TOTP code from your authenticator app

The code changes every 30 seconds, so it's virtually impossible for an attacker to guess it.

Disabling 2FA: If you need to disable 2FA, go to Settings → Security and click "Disable 2FA". You'll need to enter a current 2FA code to confirm.

Lost Your Authenticator? Use one of your recovery codes to log in, then disable and re-enable 2FA with a new device. If you've lost both your authenticator and recovery codes, contact support.
