EA Configuration and Risk Settings

How to configure the PipsCrusher EA risk parameters, lot sizes, and trading behavior from your dashboard.

The PipsCrusher EA's behavior is controlled from two places: your dashboard settings and the EA's MT5 input parameters.

Dashboard Settings (Settings → EA Configuration):

These settings are enforced server-side and apply to all trade intents sent to your EA:

Enabled Pairs: Select which currency pairs the EA should trade
Runtime Mode: Switch between Paused, Signals Only, and Auto-Trade
API Key: Your unique authentication key for the EA

MT5 EA Input Parameters:

These are configured when you attach the EA to a chart (right-click EA → Properties → Inputs):

API Key: Your PipsCrusher API key
API Base URL: The PipsCrusher server endpoint
Lot Size: Fixed lot size per trade (e.g., 0.1)
Max Spread: Maximum allowed spread for trade entry (in points)
Slippage: Maximum allowed slippage (in points)
Magic Number: Unique identifier to distinguish PipsCrusher trades from others
Poll Interval: How often the EA checks for new trade intents (default: 5 seconds)
Heartbeat Interval: How often the EA sends a heartbeat to the server (default: 60 seconds)

Risk Management Tips: 1. Start Small: Begin with a small lot size (0.01 or 0.02) until you're comfortable with the EA's behavior 2. Use a Demo Account First: Test the EA on a demo account before going live 3. Set Appropriate Leverage: Don't over-leverage. The EA respects the SL/TP from each signal 4. Monitor Regularly: Even with automation, check your account daily 5. Use a VPS: For 24/7 uptime, run MT5 on a Virtual Private Server

Plan Enforcement: Your subscription plan limits the maximum number of concurrent open trades. If the limit is reached, new trade intents will be queued until existing positions close.
